3D CAD-SAP/ERP Integration
In todays age more than 80% of Machine building MSMEs (SMEs) have some kind of ERP & PDM/PLM system in place for a smooth communication between the major stack holders. Also for easy planning & execution of any given projects.
Any project begins with a basic RFQ (Request For Quotation), wherein the Sales/Marketing team shares the requirement & specifications to all the important stake holders of the organization. The major stack holders apart from Sales/Marketing are Engineering, Store, Planning, Production, Quality, Purchase, Logistics & Service.
Each department quotes the required time of execution from their respective end with respect to the requirements or specifications. For example Engineering shares the time required for preparing & releasing the manufacturing drawings & Bill Of Materials from the date of receiving the Purchase Order. Planning calculates the raw material , Hardware, Bought Out Items, Electrical Items, & Consumable items etc. required for the execution of the project.
Store checks the inventory, reports the availability or the requirement of raw material for execution of the project. Production quotes the required time for manufacturing & assembly of complete machine from the date of receiving the raw material , manufacturing drawings & Bill Of Materials.
Similarly Purchase shares the lead time of delivery of the required raw material , Hardware, Bought Out Items, Electrical Items, & Consumable items etc. Quality informs the time required for inspection , preparing QAP (Quality Assurance Plan) & FAT (Factory Automation Test) etc. & finally Logistics shares the required transportation cost & time from the material readiness date. Service team suggests the time required for complete Erection & commissioning of machine at customer end.
Based on the inputs from the stack holders Sales/Marketing team submits a techno-commercial offer to the customer. And once the purchase order is received from the customer the same is shared with the complete team for the further planning & execution of the project.
Inspite of having all systems in place we face issues when there is no connectivity or integration between ERP/SAP & PDM/PLM system.
Good 👍 very good
