Production, Planning & Control process involves raw material inventory management, raising a purchase request in case of shortage of raw material , & planning of new or upcoming projects.


When we plan the project lead time of manufacturing & purchase items plays a very crucial role. Every manufacturing component has its own manufacturing lead time like let's say if we release of component manufacturing drawing today it may take 3 days time to get fabricated or manufactured some other may take as long as 2 weeks or 3 weeks time. Similarly let's say if we raise a purchase request for a particular Bought Out Part it may get delivered in 4 weeks time or 6 weeks time. 



For a smooth manufacturing process we need to ensure the long lead items are planned first , average lead time components next & least lead time at the end.
